Kemer is one of the most important tourism center of Turkey that is near the hillsides of the western Taurus mountains,43 km away from Antalya and that skirts along 52 km coast line.In 1910 s,there was a residental area that was being called as “old village”.The village community built a wall that has 23 km length so than this region is started to be called as “Belt”(Kemer) .

SIGHTS

Phaselis: is situated on the 58th km of the Antalya-Finike road.It is also possible to reach to Phaselis by seaway that is 15 km away from Kemer.It is thought that, Phaselis that was an Eastern Lycian coast city, was one of the commercial ports of Hellenistic age in 6th century B.C).

Olympos: Olympos that is one of the most antique city of Lycia ,became a subject of the mythology along the history .The ex-pirate harbour Olympos,is known by whole world by its historical past,excellent coast,endemic plants,Caretta carettas, Khimaira and marvellous nature that offers possibility fort he many sportive activities.)

Chirali: On the hillsides of Tchirali that is at North side of Olympos ,exists YANARTAŞ (Khimaira- Burning Stone) According to mythology The Lycian heros Belleophon fighted against Chimera that squirts fire from its mouth and killed it here.According to local belief the fire from the chimera’s mouth is still burning.In this precincts that is considered Saint place , there are Roman,Byzantium buildings.Here , the natural gaseous that exits to earth surface burns by joining oxygen since antique ages.

Demre (Noel Baba): whose ancient name is Myra,is known by its well-protected amphitheatre and rock graves that watch this amphitheatre from the hills.Saint Nicholas(Santa Claus )was a religion missionary in this Mediterranean city in 4th Century.Santa claus who always helps children,seamen and all the poor people, died here in 342 a.d.In 5th Century a basilica had been built for the honor of his name in Myra.In 1042 it is restored by the Byzantium Emperor Constantine Monomacos and Empress Zoe.This building that was restored by Russians in 19th Century,is arranged as museum and open to visitors.Many tourists that want to pass the“Sunny Noel Holiday”in this Antique Lycian city’s hot coasts and for commemoration ceremonies of Santa claus ,come here.
